The Black light theatre of Prague is a theatrical performance conducted on a stage with a black backdrop, where the actors wearing all black blend with the background and it becomes impossible to see them. This way the audience will see what the actors want to show: light effects, flying characters and tricks on stage combined with music. Moreover, the Black theatre is silent, so anybody can watch it regardless of their language.
Aspect of Alice, Prague black light theatre
“Aspect of Alice” is a typical play performed in the Black theatre, it’s based on “Alice in Wonderland” by Lewis Carroll. This show has won the admiration of thousands of viewers from all around the world.
It’s not a literal adaptation of the original story. The play starts from the moment when Alice finishes her adventures. Inspired by his imagination, the author makes Alice go through all the beautiful moments of adolescence, first love, beginning of adulthood and helps her to discover life, laughter, tears, joy and sadness. Artistic adaptation, big screen projections, puppets, amazing stage tricks, special effects, excellent modern music, classical music pieces by Bedřich Smetana and Antonín Dvořák and every spectator’s own imagination together add up to a magnificent artistic experience.
